The Haven

Cockermouth sits at the edge of the Lake District, close enough for walks around Buttermere and Crummock Water, yet a proper town in itself with independent shops, galleries and the River Derwent running through it. The Haven is a caravan on a quiet site here, sleeping four across two bedrooms—a king and two singles—with one shower room and an open-plan living space where you can spread out after a day exploring.

The kitchen has a gas oven and hob for cooking proper meals. Electric heating, hot water, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all covered. There's a front garden with a sitting area, enclosed decking to keep dogs safe, and parking for two cars on site. You have the whole place to yourself, and one dog is welcome. Note that it's a no-smoking property.

From here you're minutes from the town centre but also within reach of fell walks and the Solway Coast to the west. Wordsworth House and Jennings Brewery are in town if you want to stay local; the National Park is close by if you don't.
