You arrive at Overwater Lodge to find rooms arranged across two floors with considerable comfort built in. Downstairs, the living room has a fireplace and television; the kitchen is properly equipped with a range and full appliances; a utility room handles laundry; and a bedroom with two single beds connects to its own shower room. Upstairs, a second bedroom contains a kingsize bed with television, while the third offers two more singles. A family bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower completes the layout. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels come as standard, and logs for the open fire are provided.
The cottage sits within its own grounds—a sloping south-facing garden with patio and furniture, adjoining woodland, and space enough for children to play. You can park three cars on site. A two-minute walk brings you to Overwater Tarn; walking and cycling routes branch from the property itself, including bridleways toward Binsey Fell and Skiddaw. The Reiver cycleway passes close by. A pub lies within a mile; other villages with cafés and restaurants are within half an hour's walk. No smoking inside the property.

Fantastic place run by a very professional team from front of house to the waiting staff. It was a pleasure to stay at lovely hotel. The food is on a different level, the service is second to none. We will definitely return and recommend this wonderful place in the lake District.

Overwater Hall does not fail to disappoint as a culinary destination. This was a return visit for an anniversary dinner, and the cookery continues to be of such a high standard. Can highly recommend the lamb salad starter and beef fillet for main course. The chocolate dessert selection is the best I have ever had. Three courses were a fixed price of £65. Service and ambience were excellent. This restaurant should not be missed off any visit to the Lakes.

Excellent and friendly service. Dogs are welcome, but obviously not in the dining room, a table will be set up in the bar if the dog is with you at dinner. The bar is very nice too, the dining room is lovely. Home made liqueurs and home made shortbread in the room is a nice touch, and very tasty. Highly recommended. We will be back for more.
