Plains Cottage
Cumberland
Wetheral sits in prime walking country between the Eden Valley and the Lake District fells. The village itself has a pub within a mile, and from here you can reach riverside paths, market towns, and Penrith within an easy drive. Plains Cottage occupies the ground floor of a converted Victorian house, making it accessible without stairs—a genuine advantage rather than a buzzword, since it means older guests or anyone with mobility concerns can move freely around the property while still being based in a proper village with local life nearby.
The cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom is a double with its own shower room; the other is a twin that can be configured as a king bed, and has a separate bathroom with a bath and shower. The ground floor also contains a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals (not just reheating), a combined living and dining area with countryside views, and access to an outside courtyard and lawn. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. Parking for two cars is available, and there is an EV charger if you need it.
The cottage is non-smoking. It suits couples, small families, or friends who want a base for exploring northern Cumbria without needing to navigate stairs or compromise on space.
