Stayed two nights with my partner and it was such a lovely experience! The lodge itself was like an airbnb, very spacious and comfortable, and the area is gorgeous and quiet! Although we don't normally have breakfast, we couldn't pass up the fresh made to order options that were included in the gorgeous restaurant area! We then also booked there for dinner and my partner who had the steak pie said it was one of the best he's tried. I regret not trying the grill options they offered that night! Great food, lovely space and area, friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend and will be coming back! (FYI if you have an electric vehicle, they have charging points as well.)

Exceptionally lovely last minute stay! The owner was extremely accommodating to us and our 9 month old baby. The rooms were so spacious and clean, dinner and breakfast was brilliant and the double showers were a great surprise! Highly recommend!

Stayed here last night whilst working away. From start to finish what an enjoyable experience. Andrew the owner greeted us at reception in a very friendly manner, the room was superb and probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed. The guiness on draft was perfect and then we get to the food. The food was beautifully presented and came out in no time. I had a 10oz steak that was cooked exactly how a requested. We even ended up staying up a little later than expected as we sat with a few residents and the owner putting the world to rights over a few more pints and brandies (sorry andrew for keeping you up 😂). The next morning breakfast was faultless with plenty of selection and the cooked breakfast was just what was needed after the night before. Andrew thank you for the wonderful service that you provided.

The holy grail of hotels. We stayed for one night before gatecrashing my brother's Gretna Green wedding (which went down well - phew!) and were utterly delighted to have found such a fabulous place. The attention to detail in every department was spot on: Warm welcome - Fabulous decor - Scrumptious food - Wonderful staff team - Quality glassware - Comfortable furniture and beds - Spotless bathrooms - Easy access location - Beautiful trees and lake - Excellent value for money - An all round gem.
