Roses Cottage

Cumberland

View on Google Maps

Roses Cottage spreads across three floors in the rural village of Santon, between Gosforth and Eskdale in western Cumberland. The ground floor holds the main living room—furnished for comfort, with an open fire and Smart TV—that opens into the kitchen and dining space, equipped for proper cooking with an electric cooker and woodburner. A utility room houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and microwave. Upstairs on the first floor is the master bedroom with its double bed, followed by a bathroom with bath and shower. The second floor contains a twin bedroom with Velux windows; access involves a steep staircase with a low ceiling. A snug with electric fire on the first floor offers a quieter retreat.

The cottage sleeps four and comes as your own private space. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included, along with initial fuel for both the open fire and woodburner. One car can park on site. Outside, an enclosed garden has seating, a chiminea and barbecue, with views across fields toward Great Gable and Wasdale valley. The location works well for exploring the fells and lakes—Wasdale Head, Eskdale and routes up Scafell Pike are within easy reach—while Gosforth has shops and amenities nearby. No smoking throughout.
