Sommersby Cottage

Sommersby Cottage works well for families or groups of friends after a self-contained base in the Lakes. The three-bedroom house sleeps six across double beds, with a bathroom offering both bath and shower. One dog is welcome. The whole property is yours alone, with parking on the road and step-free access at the front door.

Ground-floor living centres on a beamed room with woodburner, Smart TV and seating arranged for relaxing. The kitchen has electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and slow cooker, plus essentials like fridge and freezer—enough to cook properly or keep things simple. A utility room with washing machine lets you manage longer stays. Upstairs, all three bedrooms are doubles. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included; wood for the burner is provided initially, then by honesty box. The enclosed garden and patio have a picnic bench and terrace space, though there is a step down into the garden itself.

Cockermouth town centre is a short walk, with pubs, restaurants, independent shops and cafés within reach on foot. Wordsworth House, a National Trust property, lies minutes away. Keswick is a 20-minute drive for fell walks and the lake. No smoking inside.
