The western Lake District's quieter valleys and woodland draw walkers and cyclists year-round. Spring Meadow Shepherds Hut sits in open countryside near Frizington, a compact timber cabin built for two. Inside, everything occupies a single floor: the double bed anchors one end of the open plan, a woodburner and seating face it from the other, and a kitchen counter runs between. The ensuite has a shower cubicle and heated towel rail. Electricity, heating, Wi-Fi and bed linen are all covered, so you arrive and settle in without faffing.
An enclosed garden wraps around the hut with seating and space to sit outside. One small dog travels free. The owners keep alpacas and other animals on their neighbouring smallholding—guests sometimes arrange walks there. Woodland surrounds the property, home to deer, red squirrels and hares. Ennerdale Water, Loweswater and Crummock Water lie within reach for fell walking, and the Cumbrian coast—Whitehaven and Cockermouth among them—is close enough for a day out. A pub sits a five-minute walk away. The hut is non-smoking.
