The Byres Tethera is a first-floor apartment in a converted barn at Stone House Farm Holiday Cottages, in the village of St Bees on the Cumbrian coast. The whole property is yours alone, with space for two people and one dog. Fourteen steps lead to the entrance; everything from there is on one level.

Inside, the open-plan living and kitchen area flows into a dining space, with a 32-inch television and a full kitchen including dishwasher and electric cooking. The bedroom has a double bed (4ft 6in) and its own TV. A shower room with a cubicle completes the layout. Underfloor biomass heating keeps the place warm; electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. A utility room with washer, dryer and freezer is shared with other properties on site. You have private parking for one car.

St Bees Head, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is within walking distance, and the village sits at the start of the Coast to Coast walk. The Lake District lies a short drive inland. Dogs stay free of charge. The property is non-smoking.
