This stone cottage was thoroughly updated in 2018 but hasn't lost its character—local lore has it there's a window within a window if you look carefully enough. The Cottage at 1710 sits semi-detached in a quiet hamlet a short drive from Brampton, with its restaurants and pubs within reach. A pub is less than a mile away on foot. The ground floor holds a sitting room with a woodburner and 40-inch TV, a dining room, and a kitchen with electric cooking. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed, one with a single. There's a shower room on the ground floor with a heated towel rail. One dog stays free.
The cottage comes with wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels all included. Oil heating keeps things warm. An external utility room houses a freezer and washing machine. Out front there's a lawned garden with seating and furniture, plus secure parking for two cars. Bikes can be stored on site. No smoking indoors. The location works well for exploring Talkin Tarn Country Park nearby, Hadrian's Wall, or making trips into Carlisle, the Lake District or Northumberland.
