The Cottage is a three-bedroom house in Gosforth, sleeping six people across a whole property to yourselves. On the ground floor, a living room with an open fire and views toward the mountains opens into a kitchen/dining room fitted with an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Upstairs are three bedrooms: one with a double bed and its own ensuite bathroom, and two rooms with single beds each, served by a family bathroom with a bath and shower.
An enclosed lawned garden with patio gives space for children and dogs to move about, and there is parking for two cars on site. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; the open fire comes with initial fuel. One well-behaved dog can stay at no extra charge. The house does not permit smoking.
Gosforth sits within reach of Wastwater and the Eskdale Valley, putting fell walking, birdwatching and exploring the wider Lake District within easy reach. The village itself has a Viking heritage—the carved Gosforth Cross still stands in the churchyard—and local pubs and tearooms serve Cumbrian food and drink.
