The Oaks
Cumberland
The Oaks is a first-floor apartment on a rural site near Hadrian's Wall, where a private path leads straight to the Roman frontier. The setting is working farmland with converted barns scattered around; the wider area suits walkers, history enthusiasts and families drawn to both the archaeological sites and the open countryside. A woodburning stove warms the main living space, which has gallery windows and views towards the distant Lake District fells.
Inside are two bedrooms (one double, one single), a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. Bed linen, towels, electricity and wi-fi are included. The private patio overlooks the landscape and comes with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. There is also a shared drying room on the property for walking gear and bikes, and parking for one car. The apartment sleeps three and is non-smoking.
