The Tottsie

You step into a ground-floor living and dining space with a woodburner and countryside views at the back. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooking, a dishwasher and washing machine. Downstairs there is also a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, two bedrooms—one double and one with twin singles—share a shower room, and from the windows you can see across the fells towards Bassenthwaite Lake and Borrowdale Valley. The cottage is one of five terraced properties dating from the 17th century, with original character throughout, though there are uneven floors in places and a low doorway on the first floor.

An enclosed garden at the front of the property has a patio and furniture. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and initial logs for the burner are all included. There is parking on site with unloading at the door. One pet is welcome. The property does not permit smoking.

Eight miles puts Keswick within reach for supplies and restaurants. The setting itself is quiet, backing onto open landscape—the garden and fells beyond make this a genuine retreat rather than a base for day trips, though both are possible.
