Part of a medieval hall built in 1380, Crogen Wing is a standalone accommodation on a 2,500-acre private estate in the Dee Valley. The building has been thoroughly updated while keeping its character, with a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings throughout. It sits just metres from the River Dee, with a small sitting area directly above the bank—a natural spot for evening drinks and watching the light change over the mountains.
The layout is split across two floors. Downstairs holds a spacious kitchen with both electric cooker and oil Aga, opening onto a cobbled courtyard with garden furniture. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, one with twin singles—each with its own bathroom. A living room with a woodburner occupies the first floor. The property is heated by biomass and includes bed linen, towels and wi-fi. A larger garden with patio and seating lies to the east, with views across the manicured lawns of the estate. Private parking is on site.
This corner of Denbighshire is relatively quiet, on the border with Gwynedd and surrounded by forest and moorland. A pub is within a mile. The surrounding grounds offer space to walk, and a high ropes course and paintball site are half a mile away. The water comes naturally from a spring on the property. No smoking inside.
