The Oaks

Llangollen draws walkers, steam railway enthusiasts and canal explorers in equal measure, and The Oaks gives you a base to return to after a day out. This single-bedroom cottage sits on the ground floor, arranged as one flowing space with a kitchen, dining area and living room that opens onto an enclosed front garden. The bedroom holds a kingsize bed; the bathroom has a bath with shower over. Everything you need for cooking is here, along with wifi and heating throughout. Bed linen and towels are provided.

The real draw is the hot tub, which sits in the garden and fits four people. You also get private parking for two cars. One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay, and there's even a separate "doghouse" space with its own access to the garden, though your pet can also move freely between the house and outside. No smoking indoors; children under five are not suitable except babies in arms. The Llangollen Railway station is nearby, as are the town's shops, cafés and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just a short distance away.
