About Travelodge Derby Cricket Ground

Just by the County Ground in Derby, Travelodge Derby Cricket Ground makes a practical base whether you're in the city for the match or heading further out towards the Peak District. It's a modern, straightforward hotel across five floors, with 100 rooms and free on-site parking, though spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so early arrival helps.

Rooms are en-suite and set up for a comfortable stay, with air conditioning fitted throughout, though a few guests have found this inconsistent in performance. Drinks are available in the room, and the hotel is accessible by lift, with rooms available for those who need them. An on-site restaurant and bar cover breakfast and evening meals, with the breakfast buffet - including hot options such as scrambled eggs - a particular strength, and staff are consistently described as helpful.

Beyond the hotel itself, there's a pub, bar and further restaurants nearby for evenings out, plus entertainment options within easy reach. Pets are welcome, and an electric vehicle charge point is on site for those travelling by EV. It's a no-frills option that suits both cricket weekends and wider trips around Derbyshire.

Obviously it's a travelodge, so that's what I'm comparing to, you get what you pay for. Polite friendly welcome, room clean. There was only one set of towels and we asked for another which was given. I have no problem with this, saves unnecessary washing. The air con didng seem to be working but we were given a fan when we asked. There's a restaurant and bar downstairs, which is convenient. The location is great, on the edge of the city but cheap. Decent size free car park too.

I recently visited the Travel Lounge at Derby Cricket Ground and had a good overall experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a nice place to unwind before or after an event. The seating was comfortable, and the venue was clean and well maintained. The food and drinks were enjoyable, with a decent selection available. Everything was served fresh, and the staff were friendly, polite, and attentive throughout the visit. Service was generally efficient, although there was a slight wait during the busier period. The location is convenient, especially if you're visiting Derby Cricket Ground, and the overall ambiance makes it a pleasant spot to spend some time. While there is a little room for improvement in terms of speed of service during peak hours, it was still a positive experience. Overall, I'd give the Travel Lounge at Derby Cricket Ground 4 out of 5 stars. It's a comfortable venue with good service, a pleasant atmosphere, and a solid selection of food and drinks. I would happily visit again.

This review is based on staff experience so far. Currently on day 2 of a 7 night stay and really impressed with the quality of service received. Last nights dinner was cooked by Jasmine and she did a really good job with our food. My daughter was very impressed with her pizza as the bottom was nice and crisp...usually you get soggy bottoms but her pizza was perfectly cooked 👌🏾 The cheese burger was juicy (no dry at all) and the chicken burger had a lovely crunchy to it. Best of all she got the chips to be the perfect crunchy when bitten so very impressed considering she doesn't normally work the kitchen...well done girly 👍🏾 I will review rooms later but so far we are very comfortable. Lost 1 star in review as no mini fridge in room but the staff and location compensate for this.

Stayed here for a business event at the cricket club, it's very well placed and you can walk straight to the venue within minutes. The breakfast and dinner options are nice, very reasonably priced. Staff were all very friendly and professional and the room was spacious, had a nice view of the cricket grounds and a comfy bed that I slept very well in. The bathroom could've been slightly cleaner (mainly in the corners), but honestly for the price I can't complain.
