Walking in, you find everything on a single floor arranged around a courtyard. One bedroom has a double bed with direct access outside; the other holds two singles. The wet room is compact but functional. The kitchen comes equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher—and opens to a dining area and sitting room with a TV. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with WiFi throughout.
The cottage occupies a working farm in the Derwent Valley near Matlock. Behind the barn sits an original ice house that once served Willersley Castle. Parking for two cars is on site; a shared courtyard has garden furniture, and there's a BBQ area in the grounds. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available. The setting is rural and quiet, though the farm means you'll see chickens around the property. Dogs are welcome at no extra cost.
Matlock itself lies within easy reach, as do Carsington Water, Bakewell and Chatsworth. A pub sits within a mile. The property is non-smoking; no exceptions.
