A wood burner sits in the open-plan living space, which flows into the kitchen and dining area; essentials like heating, linen and towels come as standard, along with wi-fi and on-site parking for two cars.

The garden opens directly onto Carsington Water, about 500 yards away by foot. The lake itself offers water sports, sailing and bike hire, plus dedicated wildlife and walking areas. Ashbourne's market town sits roughly three miles off; within an hour's drive lie Bakewell, Matlock Bath, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and the walking country of Dovedale. Carsington Water Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite is the setting, which means shared grounds with other properties on site. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with one other cottage) handles laundry. The nearest shop is two miles away; pubs and restaurants around one and a half miles. No smoking indoors.
