Swallow Barn

Carsington Water lies just a short walk away, with sailing, water sports and bike hire available year-round. The reservoir is surrounded by cycle tracks and footpaths, and there's a dedicated wildlife area to explore. Nearby Ashbourne is a proper market town with cobbled streets, while Dovedale and the White Peak's limestone valleys are a drive away, offering serious walking country. Bakewell, Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House are all within reach, and Alton Towers sits further afield for a different day out.

Swallow Barn is a ground-floor stone cottage with a double bedroom, living space with a woodburner, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering. French doors open onto a patio with garden furniture. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. Parking for two cars is on site. The cottage is no smoking.

A shop is 2 miles away; a pub and restaurant are 1½ miles. Note that direct access to the unfenced lake runs through the garden, about 500 yards from the property.
