Brookside Cottage dates from the 17th century and retains the character of that period: exposed beams, stonework and deep recessed windows give it real presence. It's a semi-detached house in the Peak District, close enough to Bakewell and Chatsworth to reach them easily, yet set in quieter countryside with immediate access to walking routes and bridleways. A pub sits within a mile.
Three bedrooms upstairs accommodate six people: one double and two pairs of singles. There are two bathrooms—one with a bath and shower, one a wet room with a separate toilet. The ground floor holds a living room with an open fire, a separate dining room and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, plus a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Garden access is to the rear, where a gravelled sitting area and rock garden face onto fields; there are steps down with a steep drop to one side.
Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. One car can park on site. The cottage does not permit smoking. One pet is welcome.
