What visitors say
Stayed with my husband and our 3 month old for four nights. It was a great place for our first holiday as a family. Clean lodge, great location and wonderful walks around the site. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be back in future once our little girl is old enough to use the on site facilities (soft play, pool etc). Thanks for a great stay!!

Excellent, well cared for place. The cabin was immaculate. Clean, tidy and looking very good. No worn or shabby parts anywhere. The amenities are good. On site shop has most items you want but deliveries easy as is shopping locally. On site restaurant was good. Nothing fancy. Fish and chips excellent. Daily pie was steak pie. Tasty, good meat. Pastry was hard - don't know if that's down to cooking or making. But still quite tasty. Well organised and definitely a place to return too. Very pleased and overall good value

Just back home from a wonderful week at Darwin Forest. Excellent lodges, great on-site facilities for all ages and friendly, helpful staff. A perfect base for exploring the beautiful Peak District. Family holiday in 3 bed lodge (No. 80). Enjoyed the swimming pool and gym on-site, as well as walks around the woodland trails. Day trips to Derwent Water and the Monsal Trail, as well as a chance to travel on a genuine steam train (Peak Rail).

What a beautiful experience. The staff cant do enough for you and are all happy to greet you when they're on their travels doing jobs etc. They always make you feel welcome. The lodge we had was stunning but was slightly let down by the cleanliness. Nothing major but taken 2 babies who crawl and having the edges of the floors not hoovered/swept properly and finding crumbs/mud wasn't ideal along with some other items that could've really done with a clean and dust but honestly it didnt hugely affect our stay, just a little annoying with how much you pay for a luxury stay. The restaurant is wonderful, the staff are incredible and the food was divine. Very well accommodating for children and dogs too. There's a 10 hole mini golf too which is great fun for all the family as well as a mini adventure building with a soft play, arcade and pool tables along with a large softplay and cafe building too! That was fantastic for our son! The pool facilities are great too. I love that you have to remove your shoes before even entering the changing rooms so you avoid mucky wet floors!! The water for the pool is warm and comfortable too and they have lots of different themed things going on at the pool at different times. Its perfect for kids and families! Overall a fantastic 9/10 stay for us! Would definitely love to return!
