Cuckoo

An indoor heated swimming pool open from 8am to 10pm is the main draw at Cuckoo, a three-bedroom cottage at Haddon Grove Farm in the Derbyshire Dales. The property sits within a hamlet of stone buildings on the edge of Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve, deep in the Peak District, close enough to Bakewell for a quick trip out but far enough in to feel properly rural.

Cuckoo sleeps five across three bedrooms: a zip-and-link super kingsize (which can be twin beds on request), a double, and a single. Downstairs there's a living room with television and DVD player, and a kitchen-diner with electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. The single bathroom has a bath and cubicle shower. Electricity, Wi-Fi and bed linen are included; a laundry room is shared with other properties on site. The cottage opens onto a patio with garden furniture and access to shared gardens. Three cars can park in the on-site car park. No smoking is permitted.

The shared facilities—the pool, games room and children's play area—are available to guests. The Peak District offers walking, cycling, rock climbing and fishing nearby. Bakewell is a five-minute drive away.
