Godfrey Hole Cottage
Derbyshire Dales
Carsington Water and the surrounding Derbyshire Dales draw walkers, cyclists and water sports enthusiasts throughout the year. Wirksworth, the market town at the foot of the hill, has independent shops, cafés, pubs and a cinema, plus farmers' markets and a well dressing festival each May. Godfrey Hole Cottage sits between the two, offering a private base for exploring this part of the Peak District.
The cottage has two bedrooms—one double, one single—and one bathroom, sleeping three. Downstairs there's a living room with woodburner and smart TV, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, and logs for the woodburner are provided to start you off. Outside, there's a front garden and a terraced rear garden with seating, plus parking for two cars.
The location works for couples or small families wanting access to the walking trails around the reservoir, or the traffic-free routes along the High Peak and Tissington Trails. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are all within reach by car. No smoking in the cottage.
