Matlock sits at the edge of the Peak District, surrounded by villages known for their traditions and backed by open moorland. Ivy Cottage is a detached property here, sleeping four across two bedrooms—a double and a bunk room suitable for children. One bathroom serves the ground floor, which holds the living room with woodburner and the kitchen/dining space; upstairs is the bedroom accommodation. The staircase is steep. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is provided: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, along with logs for the burner. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can manage a longer stay without laundry concerns.
Outside, an enclosed, lawned garden with patio and furniture gives a private outdoor space, and there is parking for two cars on site. A bike store is available. The village has a shop, pub and restaurant within two miles. From here, the Old Peak railway line runs nearby with traffic-free walking and cycle paths, while Carsington Water lies three miles away with facilities for watersports. Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Dovedale and several other Peak District attractions are a short drive away. The National Trust's Winster Market House is close by.
