Bird Nest is a compact studio apartment on the top floor of a converted building in Matlock, sleeping two in a king-size bed. The single open-plan space combines living, dining and kitchen areas, with a separate shower room. Everything needed for a short break is here: the essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included, along with wi-fi and private parking for one car. A utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer is shared with other properties on-site.
Matlock town centre is within easy walking distance, offering shops, pubs and restaurants. The Thorn Tree Inn is just under a mile away. From here, the Peak District unfolds in all directions: the High Peak Cycle Trail starts south of town, while woodland walks and cycle paths fill the gorge of the River Derwent. Further afield are Bakewell, Chatsworth House and the Heights of Abraham cable car. The apartment suits couples exploring the area without a car, or those who want to step straight into a lively market town. No smoking is permitted inside.

The Birds Nest is the most beautiful use of a small space. Hosts were very friendly & welcoming. Loved the little added extras - milk, water, tea/coffee, treats etc. It was so cosy, had the most amazing view overlooking Matlock, had binoculars so we could look further. Had all your appliances, kettle microwave, toaster and induction hob and all cutlery, pots, pans etc. Bed was so nice, had a really good night's sleep, the duvet & pillows were super soft. We did not use, but in the hallway they had a range of dvd's, games, tourist/takeaway leaflets to use and take to your room. Could borrow umbrellas and had these cute little slipper shoes. Welcome folder had all info you needed for your stay. The hosts Kate & Mark really have put alot of effort to go above and beyond for their guests. Would highly recommend staying and we will definitely return ☺️

Beautiful attic apartment with stunning views across Matlock. Wouldn't recommend if you're tall .. very low ceilings!
