The Barn at Grislow Field
Derbyshire Dales
View on Google MapsThis converted barn sits on a working farm in the Derbyshire Dales, surrounded by open countryside between Curbar and Baslow. The building itself is single-storey, entirely on the ground floor, with French doors opening onto a lawned garden and courtyard. Two bedrooms sleep four: one with a kingsize bed, the other with two single beds that zip together. Both bathrooms have heated towel rails, one with a bath and shower, the other a shower cubicle. The essentials—bed linen, towels, heating and wi-fi—are all included, along with initial fuel for the wood burner. A dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine and full cooker mean you can cook properly, and there's parking for two cars on site.
The property occupies 25 acres of grounds shared with the owner, who keeps horses there. Footpaths cross the land, so walks start from your door; the Peak District's broader network of trails is equally close. A gas barbecue sits in the courtyard. For quieter evenings, the wood burner and views through the French windows work well. Curbar village has a pub, café and art gallery; Baslow offers shops and restaurants, including a Michelin-starred option. Chatsworth House is nearby. One pet is welcome and stays free. No smoking inside. The property sits on a working farm, and there is one step in the garden.
