The Smithy

Carsington Lake is two miles away, where you can sail, canoe, windsurf or fish. The High Peak Trail's cycle paths run nearby, and Wirksworth—three miles off—has shops and a market town feel. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Buxton are all within thirty minutes' drive, while Alton Towers sits fifteen miles south. Pony trekking is five miles away. The village itself has two pubs serving food within a two-minute walk.

The Smithy is a detached cottage sleeping six across three bedrooms: a kingsize on the ground floor, two doubles upstairs. The bathroom has a bath with shower over. Downstairs, the living room has an open fire and Freeview; the kitchen/dining room is equipped for cooking and has a dishwasher. An enclosed courtyard garden with a summer house and furniture offers outdoor space, and there is parking for two small cars on site. Essentials including bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, along with a travel cot and highchair if needed. No smoking is permitted, and fireworks are not allowed in the garden or grounds.
