About Matlock Farm Park Camping
Spacious, peaceful pitches with sweeping Derbyshire views set the scene at this friendly farm park campsite just outside the Peak District National Park, around 10 minutes' drive from Matlock. The real draw, though, is next door: campsite guests receive 20% off admission to the farm park, where meerkats, wallabies, emus and more live in spotless enclosures. Join in with animal feeding, pony rides and ferret racing, or let children loose on the go-karts and indoor/outdoor playgrounds. Staff are knowledgeable and welcoming, and facilities including the restrooms are well-maintained.
Note that while the site offers drinking water, charging points and toilets, there are no showers. Pitches are generously sized (at least 7m x 7m) and barbecues are allowed. Beyond the farm park, Chatsworth estate, the Heights of Abraham cable car and countless Peak District walks await, while dark skies overhead promise excellent stargazing. A café and shop operate at the farm park; for evening meals, Matlock's pubs and restaurants are close by.

What visitors say
What a beautiful farm. With lots of experiences through out the day small animal encounter, kids and friends walk through, pony rides, reptile encounter, wallaby feeding and walk through. We had a very lucky day seeing a birth of a lamb and later the twin arrived. A kid was born that morning as well. They had an indoor play area which was like a tree house large climbing frame with 3 slides. There possibly be a few more toys added to that area but suited our 3.5year old nicely. Lots of play areas outside and a huge play area at the bottom. Animals were all looked after so well and the staff showed they had a lot of love for them. We had lunch as part of our weekday deal and was lovely and a very good deal. We had broken a fridge magnet that we wanted to pay the staff member was willing for us to swap and we explained we broke it we will pay and take away. Was lovely that she was willing to swap it out. Toilets were clean throughout the day.

So where do I start... This place is nothing but amazing! We intended to spend 4ish hours here and we spent the full day 10-5. So well organised, the staff are extremely knowledgeable, animals are great. Things to keep the kids occupied between seeing animals, treats and food as you'd expect. The smaller restaurant has a play area in it which was perfect for us, small meals, bits to eat and kids got to burn off more energy. If we are in the area again, we will definitely be visiting again, especially to see Larry the Valais Blacknose sheep which was one of the highlights among many others, it is extremely well setup. We went during May half term, and there was plenty of space, no waiting, not crowded and allowed for a very leisurely, fully enjoyable day out.

5 Stars – Amazing Experience and Exceptional Kindness! We had a wonderful visit to Matlock Farm Park yesterday. It was a truly special day because my 10-year-old daughter got to touch horses for the very first time in her life! She was so happy and spent a long time bonding with the horses, sheep, and the kangaroos. A few highlights from our visit: Affordable Fun: The animal food is very cheap, and it was great to see so many kids' activities available with no extra fees. Wonderful Animals: The interaction with the animals is fantastic—my daughter didn't want to leave them! Superior Customer Service: We unfortunately missed the pony ride at the end of the day. The front desk staff were so supportive and gave me the management's email address. I sent an email that evening and was amazed to get a reply the very next morning ( Ms.Lotty) ! They kindly arranged for my daughter to come back for her pony ride without charging us for another full day’s entry. The staff are incredibly friendly and really care about their visitors. This kind of service is rare, and it made our experience unforgettable. We feel very happy and will definitely be recommending this park to everyone!

Great family day out at a reasonable price. Lots to see and do, a few play areas to break up the day, we especially enjoyed the undercover sand play and bounce pillow. We visited on Good Friday, it was busy but there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy their visit, and some lovely additional Easter themed activities. Food in the Cafe was nice and reasonably priced, with good portion sizes.
