Dovedale is a scenic valley in North East Derbyshire, known for its limestone cliffs and walking paths through woodland. On the edge of Darwin Forest, this four-bedroom house sits within 10 acres of grounds that include a shared circular trail and views over a private lake. The whole property is yours alone, sleeping up to eight people across four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The ground floor is open plan, with a living space that has French doors opening onto a patio with garden furniture. The kitchen is fitted for self-catering, with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the basics needed for cooking. Upstairs, two bedrooms have their own ensuite showers, one bedroom has zip-and-link beds that can be configured as singles or doubles, and a fourth bedroom offers a single bed with another zip-and-link single. The main bathroom has a bath with shower over it. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The property has parking for up to four cars on site. No smoking is permitted inside.
The grounds and woodland trail are shared with other properties at Darwin Lake. This is a landscape for walking and nature watching rather than a destination for nightlife or attractions—the appeal is the quiet and the space around you.

Dovedale is very scenic and beautiful. You get free parking if you are a National Trust Member, so happily got my parking for free. I would high reccomend this place.

Dovedale is such a beautiful part of the country and we really enjoyed visiting here today. We got extremely lucky with the weather this afternoon. Some absolutely breathtaking views and a clean, well-preserved environment, a relatively easy walk. Today we only walked up to the stepping stones, but we’d love to return and walk further!

It is beautiful here. However. I went early Monday morning and the litter was unreal. Absolutely disgusting. Glass bottles, cans, nappies. Lazy people ruining it for everyone.
