About Branscombe Airfield and Camping
Perched on the edge of Branscombe village in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this campsite wins hearts with its unusual airstrip neighbour – home to vintage aircraft including a Stearman PT-17 and a Zlín 526. Watch small planes take off and land from your spacious pitch, and the friendly pilots are often happy to show guests around the hangar when they're about. Beyond the aviation charm, campers praise the spotlessly clean facilities, well-maintained dog exercise field, and peaceful setting with sweeping views across Devon countryside to distant glimpses of Lyme Bay.
A games room keeps children entertained, while the Saturday evening pizza van and mobile bar add a sociable touch. Two village pubs lie within easy walking distance, and the site makes a fine base for exploring the dramatic East Devon coast – Beer, Seaton and Sidmouth are all four miles away.

What visitors say
We’ve had our caravan stored here for a while now and honestly couldn’t recommend this campsite enough. The site is ALWAYS spotless and you can tell how hard the owners work to keep improving it year after year. The shower blocks and toilets are regularly upgraded and kept incredibly clean, and the pitches are always well maintained and beautifully presented. Everyone on site is so friendly and welcoming, which really makes a difference. There’s a great little games room and small shop on site, and it’s lovely watching the planes coming and going. The whole park is very well looked after, including the fantastic dog area which is safe, secure and perfect for dogs to run around. Evenings are peaceful and relaxing, and it’s great that fires and BBQs are allowed as long as they’re raised on the blocks provided. The grass is always cut and the whole site feels cared for and tidy at all times. They’ve recently added a glamping yurt which looks lovely, and at weekends there’s a bar on site plus a pizza van that visits, which is a really nice touch. A genuinely lovely, well maintained campsite with a great atmosphere — we always enjoy our time here.

My friend and I found this lovely site after a Visit to the Donkey Sanctuary. We just turned up on the off chance and Tracey was very friendly and welcoming and gave us a choice of Pitches as it was quiet. We loved it here. Beautiful views including a view of the sea. Super clean toilets and showers. The little Games room with Pool table, table football and Table tennis was a nice little bonus. We missed seeing any of the Planes land this time but maybe next time. Its a lovely site and we really hope to return. We had a lovely flat grass pitch. No electric hook up for us as we didn't need it for just one night. We got a fantastic rate and very much enjoyed everything about our stay.

Great stay at the camp site, nice peaceful location with a 10min drive to Branscombe beach. Lovely owners. The pizza van was a bonus! Utility room had fridge/freezer which was handy & enjoyed the entertainment in the games room. Ps - loved meeting their 2 little pooches too(camp owner & camp boss)! They were adorable. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Would definitely recommend and hope to see you soon!

This is a brilliant camping and caravan site. It's ideal for us as it's only about one and a half hours away. The family that run it are lovely and friendly. Showers and toilets provided and electric hook-up if you want it. The bonus here is the fact it's an working airfield. It's so cool watching the small aircraft taking off and landing.
