We were staying nearby and popped in for a meal and drink. What a lovely pub! Friendly and attentive staff. The food was yummy! I had 8oz steak, it was cooked lovely, with hot delicious chips and a lovely plentiful salad. Food portions were generous. Loved the atmosphere, we sat and played cards for a few drinks. Excellent no frills pub food!

I really do not recommend the food here. I don’t write reviews but I had to with this. A few hours after I ate here I had food poisoning. So did the other person that had the burger. The food was very poor, the coleslaw tasted out of date, the fries came extremely pre salted which is not wanted for some people, The burger was pink but I took nothing of this as sometimes this is how it’s cooked, however it obviously wasn’t cooked enough because of how sick I was. The service was quite poor, our plates took an hour to be taken away and when they were finally taken away we had already paid so there was no point in dessert. The food also took 30-40 minutes to be brang out even though it was not busy at all The atmosphere was very glum and didn’t feel very clean Only good thing was the drinks

Excellent Sunday lunch (roast beef and all the trimmings). Generous portions. Sticky toffee pudding was reported as the best ever eaten (praise indeed!).

We were staying nearby and popped in for a drink and something to eat. Such a cosy pub with friendly staff. We had some delicious Thai food, with plenty of vegan options for main course. Thank you!
