About Palace Farm Campsite
Tucked away in the Kent countryside near Doddington, Palace Farm Campsite offers a refreshingly low-key escape with just enough on-site comforts to keep families happy. Campfires are allowed—a real draw for those who like their evenings gathered around the flames—and dogs are welcome, making it a good shout for four-legged campers. The site provides 25 non-electric grass pitches plus three ready-pitched bell tents if you'd rather skip the setup.
Facilities cover the basics: showers, toilets and drinking water are all present, though there's no Wi-Fi or waste disposal, so you'll need to plan accordingly. It's a solid, straightforward base for exploring Sittingbourne and the surrounding area, with a friendly, unfussy atmosphere that suits those after a proper camping experience rather than glamping frills.

What visitors say
Stayed here for 2 nights camping first weekend of May. The site is very well kept. Lovely short grass and loads of room between the pitches plus a large area in the middle kept free for ball games etc. Facility were kept very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend for a family trip or overnight as a solo hiker.

I camped so I can't comment on the rooms. It was a lovely quiet, peaceful campsite. In gorgeous countryside. Beautiful villages nearby.

Simple no frills campsite. Washrooms were fine, clean and functional. The campsite is basically one big rectangular field with the tents down both sides and plenty of room for kids to run about and play in the middle. Nice pub nearby, 5 mins or so walking.

We stayed in a Granary double room during a night's stopover during a hike. We were delighted by the comfort of the chairs in the lounge (large and squishy), the thorough cooking facilities available (including basics for a continental breakfast), and the shower. The last in particular was genuinely excellent - much better than I expected for a hostel - it was very warm and spacious. Also lovely hospitality from Liz, who met us, showed us around, and then left us to enjoy the space. The only downside was that the double beds are really on the smaller side, so I think if I stay in the rooms again, I may opt for a twin room so we have our own space ... but outside of that, this was really fantastic. I'm looking forward to experiencing the camping facilities in warmer seasons!
