About Snelling Farm Campsite
If you're in the mood for a secluded stay among unspoilt Dorset countryside, how does a farm in Wareham, a mile from the nearest road and on the edge of the River Frome, sound? From Snelling Farm Campsite you can watch sunrise through river mist, spot roe deer grazing at sunset, and keep your eyes peeled for swans, herons, kestrels and – if you're lucky – barn owls at dusk. This is a genuine wildlife haven.
Keen campers themselves, the owners keep things simple and relaxed. Back-to-basics camping is championed here, with stargazing and campfire meetups encouraged. Simply follow the signs to the oak-lined 23-acre field and pick your spot on the unrestricted, non-allocated pitches – particularly fab if you're bringing your dog along. Facilities include electric hot showers, solar showers, washing-up sinks and eco-friendly compost toilets (bring your own loo roll), though some visitors note the walk to amenities can feel a bit far from the furthest pitches.
The villages of Wool and Crossways (both three miles) have convenience stores for supplies.

Stayed here for the end of May bank holiday weekend. What a find. The campsite was at capacity but didn't feel it. I was a bit hesitant of the toilets when booking - but they were spotless and didn't smell. Showers were warm and equally spotless. We arrived with our two young children and met friends. Loved how safe and family friendly it felt and was refreshing to let the children run wild. Ford was a welcome refresh. We've stayed at numerous campsites around the south into Cornwall. This was by far my favourite. We will be back

An idilic visit just off bovingdon quiet and peacefully beautiful all done in a sustainable way with nature in mind, I would definitely recommend this haven in the maelstrom of modern life, and the sheep are cute 😁

Loved our stay at Snelling Farm. Really clean, spacious and lots to do around the area. Everyone was so friendly, truly made our stay special. We stayed as a couple, however the campsite is definitely more family-orientated. Two separate fields, we stayed in the quieter one which was lovely. 2 Pigs in the farm as well as lots of sheep. Beautiful woodland to go for walks, one road that leads you to Moreton Ford (5-10 min walk), which was a nice, cool dip. Less than 20-25 min drive away from Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle, Swanage. Do recommend getting the lamb burgers as they were delicious. There aren't a lot of shops / supermarkets nearby so I'd recommend getting your food shop before you arrive. The wood and kindling was slightly pricey so I'd recommend getting some too. They have a few firepits available to use for free which we did. Compost toilets so bring your own loo roll. Showers were not working when we were there which was unfortunate but didn't bother us too much as we had a short stay.

We had a really enjoyable stay here with our family of 5. The fields are nice and big so you can get some space and the food from the farm shop was absolutely delicious - lamb burgers are not to be missed! The toilets were ok, compost toilets but were always clean and didn't smell, so no complaints there. Location was brilliant. Short walk (10 mins) to the river where there's a ford you can paddle in, short drive (10 mins) to the nearest town where there's a nice cafe and walled garden, longer drive (25 mins) to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. All in all we loved our stay and there is lots more around there to explore, so we will certainly be back.
