Dorchester puts you within reach of the Jurassic Coast's most dramatic stretches. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are a short drive away, as are the South West Coast Path and Wareham Forest for walking and cycling. The Coach House itself is a pub conversion offering five bedrooms and five bathrooms, sleeping ten across the whole property to yourselves.
Ground floor holds a living and dining room with a woodburner, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a utility room, and a separate toilet. Upstairs, each bedroom has its own en-suite: one features a super-king bed, another a standard king, a third a double, the fourth has two singles, and the fifth contains bunk beds. The kitchen opens onto an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and a portable barbecue. Parking is on site. Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included; heating runs on meter reading. Smoking is not permitted.
The pub's kitchen handles breakfast and evening meals, with a Sunday carvery and steaks among the regulars' favourites. The car park is spacious and quiet, dog walkers are welcome, and the bar staff are known for attentiveness. Families with young children will find a travel cot and highchair available.

A favourite watering hole of mine on the A35 at Winterbourne Abbas, my favourite way to or from Devon. Good Ales, lovely food. Always spotless inside, friendly and welcoming staff. Plenty of room for customers and plenty of free parking out the back.

Best sirloin steak I’ve ever had! Absolutely perfectly cooked. Wonderful friendly staff and delicious food. Breakfast next morning was also excellent. Beautifully decorated pub. We stayed the night in our motorhome in the car park which is spacious and quiet. Despite being on the A35 we didn’t hear any road noise as the buildings act as a shield. Very convenient stop off, highly recommend it. Stayed again recently and huge thanks to Angela who went above and beyond to put by 2 plates of carvery as we arrived 20 mins after 7pm last food orders on a Sunday😊Food delicious and plentiful as ever.

Nice sunny day, Looking for a nice countryside pub to stop off for an evening meal on our travels while going between Bridport and Weymouth, A friend had recommended this pub, it is an absolute hidden gem, the service was friendly and attentive and the food is next level !, Well beyond our expectations ! Seriously impressed having eaten restaurant food all over Europe, this was outstanding !, I really did think the steak was better than what I had in Florence Although it was very quiet when we visited early evening on a Saturday we were able to walk in and get a table without prior reservation We were handed 2 different types of menu 1 had some specials on there like ciabatta’s with a great selection, the other menu had a very impressive choice of main meals, really different options to what you’d usually find on a pub menu I’d highly recommend to stop off here when you’re passing to try the food as it’s so good !! We had 8oz steak that came with salad, Parmesan cheese, peppercorn sauce and chips, the other meal was a Buddha bowl (large) with halloumi, both as mentioned above Excellent ! There’s good quality indoor seating areas and also there’s outdoor seating The car park is located directly behind the pub so you need to turn into the residential street towards the houses with red front doors then turn again to get to large car park behind

My first visit here in over twenty five years, largely because they are now a Britstop as well as a BnB. There's excellent parking and another bonus was that as well as getting a great evening meal, a fresh cooked variaton on a Chicken Kiev, I could come back in the morning for a great breakfast. Angela and the rest of team are very welcoming and make the whole check in process really easy. There's a good selection of ales available. The pub carpark can also be used for visiting the Ninestones just down the road, if you do, pop in on your way back and enjoy some hospitality at the Coach House Inn. I can definitely recommend the cheeseboard of local cheeses.

Diners like this pub's delicious and plentiful food, especially the Sunday carvery with its perfectly cooked meats and wide selection of vegetables, along with excellent breakfasts and steaks. They also highlight the friendly, welcoming, and attentive staff, and appreciate the reasonable prices. Visitors mention the spacious and quiet car park, and that the pub is dog-friendly.
