Swallows’ Nest

Couples and small families will find Swallows' Nest suits a quiet rural escape. The converted barn sits on a private lane with direct access to walking routes, surrounded by countryside that rolls toward the Purbeck Heritage Coast. It sleeps four across two bedrooms—a super king and two singles—each with its own shower room, and everything unfolds on the ground floor. The open-plan living space has high ceilings, a wood burner for cooler evenings, and patio doors that open onto gardens where you can eat outside or play table tennis under a covered shelter. Parking for two cars is private and secure.

The kitchen is fully equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and all the basics. Electricity, heating, wifi, bed linen and towels are included, along with logs for the burner to get you started. The owner lives on the property and can advise on the area. Thomas Hardy country surrounds you—Weymouth and Swanage are both reachable—and Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door lie five miles away. Closer at hand, Wool village has a shop, bakery and butcher, the River Frome draws fishers, and bridleways thread through the area for cyclists and riders. Children under five are not accommodated. Smoking is not permitted inside.
