About Clouds Hill Glade

Fancy parking up at a pitch in a gorgeous little glade in the woods? Somewhere small that feels secluded but is actually handily placed for all sorts of Dorset days out? Take your motorhome along to Clouds Hill Glade, in a rural spot 10 minutes' drive from both Bere Regis and Wareham.

There's very little by way of facilities here, so you'll need to come along in a motorhome that's self-contained for facilities and power (there is a septic tank for disposal but you'll need to use green chemicals only here in order to protect the local environment). In return for bringing along your own facilities you'll be rewarded with a peaceful place to stay, surrounded by woodland and wildlife and backing onto heathland and more woods for some splendid walks and bike rides.

It all feels rather delightfully detached from the rest of the world, but when you do venture out you're likely to find this location on the edge of the Isle of Purbeck to be rather handy. The National Trust site Clouds Hill is just over the road and the Lawrence of Arabia Memorial a few minutes' walk away, and it's a couple of miles to a couple of Dorset's top attractions in the form of Monkey World and The Tank Museum. Beyond all of that are plenty more ways to fill your days – whether you fancy hitting the Jurassic Coast, taking a ride on the Swanage Railway or coming face to face with the Cerne Abbas Giant, it's all within a half-hour drive.

Just spent three nights in Nuthatch cabin. Found the place easily after looking for it on streetview. Bed was comfortable, oven and hob easy to work out, all items I needed for cooking were there. Only problem I had was watching TV. After a couple of shows it just kept buffering and didn't come back on. Wasn't bothered as I didn't travel down to watch telly. Will definitely book again.

It's a forest clearing next to a fairly busy road. The only facility is chemical toilet disposal. We only stayed one night of the two weeks booked as it wasn't for us. We have wild camped so are used to nature but this site kind of misses out. A personal annoyance was that the only other people onsite were smoking certain substances. I'm a non smoker but not against this - but why outside our van? It was really strong and stank the van out. It's probably nicer in the summer and is reasonably priced to be fair. We wouldn't go back.

Would be nice but currently, we are having to breathe in cannabis fumes! Clearly in the pods that are rented out but it stinks and we are NOT happy! Not owners fault - booked two nights but going tomorrow!
