Walk through the door of Tranquillity Cottage into a beamed living room where an inglenook fireplace holds an open fire, ready for colder months. This 17th-century thatched property sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, three miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The ground floor spreads across a traditionally styled kitchen—equipped for proper cooking with electric oven, hob and dishwasher—and a bathroom with bath and shower. Steep, winding stairs lead up to two first-floor bedrooms with sloping ceilings and exposed beams: one with two single beds, the other a double.

You get the whole cottage to yourself, sleeping up to four people. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and wifi are covered. The large enclosed garden is fenced and includes a summerhouse, seating areas and a pond. One dog is welcome. There's parking on site, and Winfrith Village Stores is a short walk away. Dorchester lies eight miles inland; Weymouth's beach and seafront are eleven miles further.
