Bookham Court - Great Coombe

Photo: Bookham Court Holiday Cottages

Great Coombe sits in rolling Dorset countryside between Dorchester and the villages that dot this corner of the county. Bookham Court is a substantial family house on landscaped grounds, with a quarter-acre of lawned garden, sitting-out areas, and a barbecue. A pub is within walking distance. The property is yours alone, whether you're a group of friends, an extended family, or both.

Four bedrooms sleep nine: two doubles, one room with two single beds, and one with flexible sleeping that includes a pull-out bed. Three bathrooms and separate toilet mean mornings are easier. The ground floor has a living and dining room with woodburner (logs provided), a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and bedroom one with its own wet room. Upstairs, the other three bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath and shower. Heating is oil underfloor; electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. There's parking for three cars on site.

Bookham Court has a games room with table tennis and snooker, and fishing is available on the grounds—no licence needed. The setup suits families wanting space to spread out, or groups who want communal areas as well as private bedrooms. One dog is welcome. No smoking indoors.

Really nice place, beautiful location on a valley hillside with spectacular views of the fields and forests. Nice walks nearby and freindly local places to visit. We stayed in little Coombe with the jaccuzzi and loved it.

Lovely home stay in Great Coombe for 8 of us! Would recommend for a fantastic stay away! Had basics such as washing up liquid, towels and other bits which was nice :) plus a lovely guide book which was good to read when we first arrived!

We stayed in the Crowthorne and can’t fault the barn it was lovely. Only thing to point out is it says secure garden and if you’ve got a small dog like we have then they can get out on to the road and the field. However we’d highly recommend as the barn is such a great space. Family members stayed in the wagon house and again it was lovely. Dad had a go at fishing in the lake but didn’t catch anything. 🤣

If you want a real secluded get away, this is the place. Lovely converted farm buildings, great for families and all ages. Super games room and small pond for the wildlife enthusiasts. Magnificent views of the surrounding countryside from the patio area.
