Newstead Cottage
Dorset
Weymouth's working harbour and sandy beach are within walking distance of Newstead Cottage, a renovated period property that sleeps four. The cottage has two double bedrooms—one with a king bed, the other with a zip-and-link that can be configured as singles on request—and a bathroom with both bath and walk-in shower. Downstairs, a sitting room and separate dining room frame an open fire, while the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are included; initial fuel for the fire comes too.
Outside, a westerly-facing garden has seating and off-road parking for two cars. One well-behaved pet stays free. The property does not permit smoking. The National Sailing Academy is nearby—the venue for 2012 Olympic sailing—and the surrounding area offers fishing, swimming and boating. Walks along Chesil Beach and Portland connect to the Jurassic Coast's UNESCO-listed landscape. Dorchester, Bridport and Abbotsbury are within easy reach by car. The cottage has a narrow spiral staircase.
