Rose Cottage
Dorset
Rose Cottage is a converted stable on the grounds of a Grade II listed 15th-century farmhouse, set within extensive meadows and gardens overlooking the River Stour. The property sleeps three across two bedrooms—a double (which can be split into singles) and a single—with a shower room and an open-plan living space combining kitchen, dining and sitting areas. One dog can stay free of charge.
The cottage sits in the hamlet of Newton, just outside Sturminster Newton, positioning you between Sherborne and Blandford for exploring Dorset's countryside and the south coast. A pub and shop are within half a mile on foot. The essentials are covered: electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included, and you have your own parking. No smoking inside. The building is approached by a single step, and a utility room is shared with the neighbouring converted stable.
Whether your interest lies in National Trust properties like Kingston Lacey and Stourhead, or you're drawn to the Dorset coast around Weymouth and Swanage, the location offers a quiet base without feeling remote. The river runs about 200 yards from the property.
