The Smithy sits on a working farm in Dorset's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, less than two miles from Charmouth. The surrounding landscape rolls away across Marshwood Vale, while the Jurassic Coast – with its fossil beaches and dramatic cliffs – lies within easy reach. Bridport itself offers high street amenities, and the whole stretch from here westward to Lyme Regis and West Bay is peppered with seaside towns and coastal walks.
This converted cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: a double and a bunk room. The ground floor holds a living and dining space with Freeview, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and access to an enclosed garden. Upstairs is the single bathroom, with a bath and shower over. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. There's private parking for two cars on site, and one well-behaved dog stays free. Smoking is not permitted inside.
The farm itself has a working history – it was once owned by the local blacksmith, and the owners still live here. An electric vehicle charging point is available if needed. The Tunnel Tree Tops nearby offers another local draw for families and outdoor types.

Lovely views over the valley, peaceful location. Wine and cookies from the host is a nice touch. The driveway down to the property is sketchy and wouldn't be suitable for low-clearance vehicles. Excellent value though, even if it's a little dated inside.

We stayed in the Barn for a week and enjoyed the warm and comfy accommodation. Perfect location for exploring the Jurassic coast and ideally situated from the M5! Lovely hosts, helpful but not intrusive and an all round good stay! Thank for shovelling the snow!

We spent a perfect week in the lovely Barn which was well equipped, very comfortable and in an ideal location. The amazing view exceeded our expectations and was a delight to return to after visiting nearby places such as Charmouth and Lyme Regis. The two en suites and separate shower room were ideal and the welcome pack was a lovely touch from the perfect hosts. The Barn is also dog friendly with an enclosed garden. We hope to return

A great house with all essentials provided. Was particularly impressed with a travel cot already set-up with mattress and also toddler bedding, ready for use when we got there. All the rooms are a great size and with very comfy bedding and blankets. A lovely living room and kitchen and we were left a welcome basket- such a thoughtful gesture. I really rate this place. Also, on-site parking with lots of room! Location is fab, too, being 5 mins from Lyme Regis. Excellent stay!!!
