🏡 Self-Catering Cottage 🐾 Pets Welcome

Sunnyside

Photo: Josie Langdon

Couples and small groups looking for a quiet rural retreat will find Sunnyside an easy fit. The single bedroom has a king-size bed; there is one bathroom with shower. The whole place is yours alone, with on-site parking for two cars and a garden with patio where you can sit outside. One dog is welcome. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; there is underfloor heating throughout and a woodburner in the living room with fuel provided to get you started.

The ground floor is largely open-plan: kitchen, dining and living areas flow into one generous space, well-lit and comfortable for cooking or spending time together. A smart TV is in both the bedroom and living room. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. You cannot smoke inside. Check-in is after 4pm; you'll need to leave by 10am on departure day.

Ashley Cross Green is on the edge of Poole, putting you within reach of Salisbury's cathedral and high street to the north, and the New Forest's walking trails and ancient woodlands to the east. Stonehenge lies a drive away if history is on your agenda. The immediate countryside around the property offers quiet exploration on foot, with picturesque villages nearby serving traditional pub food and country walks.

Really can't fault this lovely little cafe. They make it difficult not to come back. From a very well stocked children's library (where you can take books to borrow at home) and an excellent playroom, they also have a bathroom stocked with nappies, wipes and tampons. Staff are friendly, drinks are good, and the atmosphere lives up to it's name ☀️

Friendly staff and very nice vibe. Toasties are lovely and come with a side of what may be the nicest coleslaw in the world!!! Affordable compared to many independent cafes, would definitely recommend. One small criticism (if you can call it that) is that I felt the portions are too big for the small plates - I was getting a bit stressed with either having my toastie or coleslaw fall off the plate onto the table 😂

So happy we stumbled on this place! Adorable little play area in the back for little ones to stay entertained while you have a quick bite to eat. Also amazing food and really accommodating to adapt food for our toddler too. Also dog friendly!

Really lovely new cafe. Great homemade biscuits and friendly staff. Between us we had the smasher bap, a biscoff cookie and a pistachio cookie.
