Old Downs Farm - Coachman’s Cottage
Dover
This characterful cottage sits on a working farm in Sandwich Bay, converted from what was once the coachman's quarters. The building retains genuine period charm while offering modern comfort—ground-floor living means no stairs to navigate, and the layout gives you a proper kitchen, dining and sitting space, plus a bedroom with a king-size bed and an ensuite shower. Upstairs, a second bedroom has two singles and there's a separate toilet, so four guests sleep here with room to move about.
Essentials are covered: electricity, heating, wi-fi and bed linen included. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, and there's an enclosed courtyard with seating and a gas barbecue for warmer days. One dog stays free. Parking for two cars sits on the property. The rural setting puts you within walking distance of sand and shingle beach, and the Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory is close by for birdwatching year-round. The area holds three championship golf courses; if you fish, there's fishing available locally too. The owners have paddle boards for guests to use.
