St Germains Garden Annexe
Dover
This standalone annexe occupies a quiet corner of historic Sandwich, built as a compact retreat with its own entrance and a brick courtyard garden shared with the main house. The building holds a double bedroom, shower room and kitchenette—everything needed for self-catering without the sprawl of a full holiday home. Essentials like bed linen, towels and wifi are included; electricity is metered. One dog is welcome to stay.
The courtyard itself is planted with pots and furnished with seating, offering a sheltered outdoor space for morning tea or evening air without demanding a large garden. Parking is on-site and off-road. Smoking is not permitted indoors. The kitchenette suits breakfasts, light suppers and simple meals prepared on quiet evenings in, rather than full-scale cooking; most guests spend their days out exploring rather than staying put.
Sandwich's medieval streets hold independent shops and local pubs serving good food. Coastal walks and beaches lie within easy reach, while the White Cliffs of Dover, Canterbury and nearby seaside towns are all manageable day trips. Nature reserves and riverside paths offer gentler alternatives for days when you want to stay closer to base.
