The Dovecote - The Bothy
Dover
Rural Dover holds working villages, country walks and easy access to Canterbury, Sandwich and the Kent coast. The Bothy sits within this landscape as a detached cottage dating from 1750, when it served the Groves Estate as a gardener's store and workspace. Ground-floor rooms mean no stairs, and an enclosed garden with patio offers outdoor space; a pub lies roughly a mile away.
Two bedrooms—one double, one with two singles—and a bathroom with bath and shower serve groups of up to four. The living room has an open fire (initial fuel included), Freeview television and DVD player. The kitchen is equipped for cooking, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, heating and parking for two cars are covered in the cost. One dog stays free and the garden is enclosed; a travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.
Walking trails start from the property. Wingham lies two miles off, Sandwich six miles—known for its density of listed buildings—and Canterbury's restaurants, shops and cathedral are a short drive. Wi-Fi can be intermittent given the remote setting. No smoking inside.
