About Wimbleball Lake
Tucked beside the shores of Wimbleball Lake near Dulverton, this straightforward campsite makes the most of its scenic Somerset setting. The reservoir itself offers watersports and walking trails, while the site provides the basics done well: electric hook-ups, hot showers, and the welcome bonus of being able to light campfires. Families and dog-owners are both catered for, making it a flexible base for exploring Exmoor's southern reaches.
The lakeside location is the real draw, offering peaceful views and easy access to kayaking, sailing, and fishing. While facilities are functional rather than fancy – there's no WiFi or chemical disposal point – the natural surroundings more than compensate. A reliable, unpretentious choice for anyone wanting countryside camping without the frills.

Lovely lake. We enjoyed the walk to the dam which was spectacular. Well maintained paths with lots to see. Will come back with our canoe in the summer and make a day of it.
