The Barn by The Lake
Somerset

A converted barn built from stone, The Barn by The Lake sits on its own grounds beside a private lake in the Exmoor area. The property is yours alone – three bedrooms, two bathrooms, parking for four cars and an enclosed garden with direct lake access. It's a working conversion rather than a country estate, positioned close to the owner's home on a private road.
The ground floor is open plan, with living and dining areas sharing the space, a wood burner, and French doors onto a terrace. A steep wooden staircase leads to a galleried mezzanine with two single beds. The main bedroom, a separate single, and both bathrooms are also on this level. The kitchen is equipped for full self-catering – electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave – and there's a utility room with washer-dryer. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; initial logs for the burner are provided.
The setting draws people here: the lake, the surrounding moorland and woodland, the network of walking and cycling trails through Exmoor. An activity centre is nearby. Fishing is available on-site for a fee (licence required). The garden has a patio with furniture. This suits families or groups wanting to self-cater in one place for a week, or anyone looking for quieter time away from busier holiday spots. Note that there are steps both into the garden and within it, and no smoking is permitted indoors.
