Abbotsford Hotel

A good hotel for my short four-night stay while I attended the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. I chose this hotel for it's great location as it's located only a 15 minute walk away from Dumbarton East Station which has direct, frequent trains to/from Glasgow. The staff here are extremely friendly and my room was big and spacious. My bed was very comfy and my room felt very cosy, the decor is definitely dated, but I expected this. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice on the menu and the food served at the restaurant in the evening is also great. There are unfortunately a few things I don't like about the hotel. Firstly, the soundproofing in my room was pretty terrible. I could easily hear TVs on and conversations happening in the rooms next door and in the corridor. The Wi-Fi was absolutely abysmal since it kept cutting out for the entire duration of my stay. The bedside plug socket was a little hard to find as I had to pull the bed out to find it. Finally, the room was a little cold since the heating didn't work, I imagine that's because the hotel turns off the heating in the summer to save money. Overall, I'd give my stay a 7/10. It was good and despite everything, I'm still glad I chose to stay here. However, it's likely that I won't be returning here anytime soon.

We honestly couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, James went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his support, professionalism and genuine care made the whole planning process completely stress-free. He played a huge part in making our day everything we'd hoped for. Every member of staff was friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful throughout the day and evening. It was clear that everyone wanted us and our guests to have the best possible experience. The food was absolutely beautiful and received so many compliments from our guests. Everything was well organised, ran smoothly, and we were able to relax and enjoy every moment knowing we were in such good hands. A huge thank you to James and the entire team for giving us a wedding day we'll never forget. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Abbotsford Hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic wedding venue.

Great hotel & restaurant our first stop on our trip around Scotland. Clean comfortable rooms & the restaurant had a good range of choice on the menu.The staff where very welcoming & friendly. A lovely find & we would definitely come back.

Just had a meal in the restaurant for 20 people.an 80th birthday. Meal was horrible. Chicken enchiladas were so spicy not stated on the menu. Fish diabolical no one enjoyed the fish. A very short menu.5 things on the menu. Enchiladas, steak pie. Mac &cheese.or chicken cujons. There was 2 staff members that were absolutely on top,the lady with the dark hair and the lady with the Xmas lights on her head Top ladies couldn't fault them what so ever. However the other member of staff girl with blonde hair had an attitude.Guests who had just finished their drinks,and their glasses were taken away. No one ordered desert after the meal they had. Couldn't return meals as it was a short menu. Won't be back at all.and no I'm not recommending the restaurant.!
