Gatehouse of Fleet lies a mile away, with pubs, restaurants and the Mill on the Fleet Visitor Centre within easy reach. Cardoness Castle is nearby, and Kirkcudbright—the artists' town with its harbour and busy calendar of events—is a short drive. The Galloway Forest Park is close, and the area has five of the 7Stanes mountain-bike routes. Beaches are 3 miles distant; woodland walks and coastal paths spread across the surrounding countryside.

Fleet View occupies a converted dairy cottage on a working farm, set high enough to catch countryside and sea views. Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with a woodburner, a separate dining area, and a kitchen. Bedroom 1 has a king bed and ensuite with bath and walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 holds a super-king bed. Bedroom 3 has a zip-and-link super-king that converts to twin singles on request. There is a second shower room with a heated towel rail. The property sleeps 6.

A private hot tub for six sits in the enclosed garden, which has patio seating and a gas barbecue. Private parking fits three cars. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; initial fuel for the woodburner is provided. The property is non-smoking. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
