Jack's Hideaway is a single-storey cottage arranged entirely on one level, with an entrance just a step away. Inside, an open-plan living and dining space flows from the kitchen through patio doors to a decked sitting area where a private two-person hot tub waits. The bedroom has a kingsize bed; the shower room is compact and efficient. Everything needed for self-catering is here—cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer—along with heating, wifi, bed linen and towels included.
The cottage sits on a working farm a mile from Gatehouse of Fleet, where restaurants and cafes cluster around the harbour. Cardoness Castle and the Mill on the Fleet Visitor Centre are near at hand; Kirkcudbright, famed for its artistic community and summer events, lies a short drive away. Beaches are three miles off; the Galloway Forest Park and several of the 7Stanes mountain-bike routes are accessible for day trips. Threave Gardens, a National Trust property, is within reasonable reach. Coastal and forest walks start from surrounding lanes, and the region's Gulf Stream warmth means gardens flourish throughout the area. No smoking inside.
