Garrarie Cottage
Dumfries and Galloway
Garrarie Cottage is a ground-floor property renovated in 2020–2021, standing on a working farm with views across toward the Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man. The cottage holds two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, one with two singles—plus a wet room, and sleeps four. Everything happens on one level: the living and dining room has a wood burner and French doors opening onto a patio, while the kitchen is equipped for cooking from scratch, with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances. One dog stays free, though it must remain on a lead while on the farm. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included; initial logs for the burner come with the cottage. An enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue, plus parking for two cars, are on site.
This part of Dumfries and Galloway feels remote but is close to real things: sandy beaches dot the shoreline, benefiting from the Gulf Stream's warmth, and the Mull of Galloway itself hosts an RSPB reserve where seabirds nest on cliff faces in spring and summer. The Machars Peninsula and Galloway Hills offer walking routes from clifftop to forest, while Galloway Forest Park lies within reach for those wanting lochs, woodland and moorland. Wigtown, Scotland's National Book Town, is a short drive away. No smoking indoors.
